Billing FAQs

Does Our Lady of the Angels offer financial assistance?
Our Lady of the Angels grants financial assistance to patients for emergency and medically necessary services through the Financial Assistance Plan. To see if you qualify for financial assistance and for FREE confidential help in applying, contact Our Lady of the Angels Financial Counselors at 985-730-2264 or 985-730-6727.

Does this mean that my whole family is on one statement?
No. Due to HIPAA laws, everyone in your household over the ages of 18 will receive their own statement.

I’ve been making monthly payments on my bill, but have not set up a formal payment plan with Our Lady of the Angels. That is okay, right?
No. You must set up a formal payment plan with Our Lady of the Angels in order for your bill not to go to collections. To do so, please contact Our Lady of the Angels Financial Counselors at 985-730-2264 or 985-730-6727.

What are my payment options?
  • Online through your Our Lady of the Angels MyChart account.
  • Mail a check or money order, along with the tear off form on the front of your statement.
  • Call Our Lady of the Angels Financial Counselors at 985-730-2264 or 985-730-6727, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm CST to make a payment or ask about our Extended Payment Plan Program.

What happens if I miss a payment?
If you miss a payment, we will send you a second statement, alerting you that your payment wasn't received on time. You can either pay at that time or contact Our Lady of the Angels Financial Counselors at 985-730-2264 or 985-730-6727 to make other arrangements, like our Extended Payment Plan.

If we still don't receive your payment, you'll receive a third statement letting you know that your account is extremely past due. At that point, if you don't make payment arrangements with us immediately, your overdue account will be forwarded to our agency for collection.

Who do I contact if I have more questions?
If you have any questions, please contact Our Lady of the Angels Financial Counselors at 985-730-2264 or 985-730-6727.

Why has Our Lady of the Angels changed our billing statement?
We have consolidated your hospital and clinic charges on to one statement to make it easier for you to keep track of what you owe and see it all in one place.

Why is the account number at the top of the first page of my statement different from the ones listed next to each charge on the second page?
The account number at the top of the first page is your patient account number. The numbers listed as part of each transaction itemized on your bill are visit numbers. These are listed in case you want to apply your payment toward specific visit(s), rather than the total.
